RESULTS - Londoners Club Championship Weekend at Khao Yai Country Club 23/24 November 2024

Another Club Championships is over and this one was a real beauty! Held for the first time at Khao Yai Country Club we enjoyed the first glorious weekend of the dry season with comfortable temperatures, some sun and amazing scenery. The golf course was very popular with our players too. Even though it was new to most, everyone appreciated that whilst really bad shots were punished, averagely-bad shots could be found and generally played.

After 2 days of Medal play, a less common but apt scoring format for a championships, Ben Hemphill stood proud at the top of the leaderboard. Well done Ben! His second nine on Day 1 was fabulous helping him to a Net 66 and a good lead which he held onto, just, during Day 2. Noi Waratworayon took home the Scratch Trophy for the being the best golfer off the stick (a super gross 71 on Day 2) whilst the overall Flight winners were Noi (A), Andrew Stray (B) and Paweena Baothong (C). As you may have inferred, the Day 1 Winner was Ben and the Day 2 Winner was Noi.

Thanks to all the committee for their hard work in organising the event. Particularly to Steven Brader who did the majority of the behind the scenes organising.

In the Team Event, the 4 Aces dominated on both days but it wasn't ever going to be enough to challenge the Fireballs who end as 2025 champions. Read more here.

The next events are the Christmas Dinner and Awards on Thursday 12 December at the Londoner Brew Pub and the Annual Scramble on Saturday 14 December and registration for that is already open. Sign up for both on True Handicap.

Thank you to everyone for coming to the Club Championships and helping to make it another great Londoner event. See you next time,
Phil
