RESULTS - Stableford Competition at Vintage on Saturday 26 July 2025

A beautiful day for golf yesterday at Vintage with overcast skies, no rain and pathcy blustery conditions. Three players shot under handicap although only 2 troubled the competition (more later). Olly O'Dell won for the 2nd event in a row with a terrific score of 41 points with a gross 77 including a level par second 9 holes. Well done Olly, it was a pleasure to observe first hand.

Olly O'Dell (R) receives his trophy and prizes from captain Phil Mulligan (L)

Flights A, B and C were won respectively by Pepo Khanla (33 points), Phil Mulligan (38 points) and Mark Foxwell (35 points) - congratulations! Full scores are on True Handicap (old events page) and in the table below:

We welcomed a new member yesterday - Kongkiat Supsiriyoukong (nickname Gun) and he shot a great round of gross 78. He joined after the comp had closed however so had to be content with 3 technical prizes (of which he gets to take only one home) and a welcoming sleeve of LGC balls.
There were guests too - Marvin Santifaller from Germany and living in Bangkok plus his visiting Mother, Krista. Great to meet you! Also Jintana Amby, known to those who also play at Wanderers events, guested and will hopefully join plus we welcomed back long time member, Fred Blumenberg for a special day before his holiday ended and he travelled back to Germany. Great stuff.

The team event ran in the new format - your team is your playing group on the day and the best 2 stableford scores each hole count to the team's total. The team of Rob Jones, Pepo Khanla, Gun Supsiriyoukong and his Dad, BK Trapsiri won with a great score of 101 points. Runners up were the group of Paweena Baothong, Phil Mulligan, Olly O'Dell and Richard Phillips (2nd game with us - welcome too, Richard!). 93 points. Looks like 5 points per team per hole is the minimum needed to be in contention.

Team Winners - Gun (center), BK (R) receive their LGC balls from captain Phil Mulligan (L). not pictured, Rob Jones and Pepo Khanla (also team members)

Coming up - a Pairs better ball game at Flora Ville on Saturday 9 August. Registration is open now on True Handicap as usual. Sign up as a pair if you can, make indications of playing partner preferences in your comments or sign up as a single and we will match you up. Looking forward to it!

Regards,
Phil
