Registration Open - Ex-Captains' Day at Lam Lukka CD on Saturday 11 May 2024
Update (28 April):
We have 45 players registered with up to 56 slots available so it is not too late to sign up for this unique event.
Format: We will have an individual stableford competition for those who are eligible and wish to be in a comp whilst it will be social golf for everyone else with a choice of tee boxes to play from as befits abilities and age - including using silver tees - a concept I was unaware of but essentially is a couple of yards behind the red tees if not specifically designated with tee box markers.
Groupings: We will mix up the groups irrespective of comp or non-comp as the primary reason to play is to have current and past members meet and play together.
Dear friends and members, heed this decree,

On Saturday, May the eleventh fair,
Our gathering, a moment rare to share.
Ex-captains, committee, members of old,
Their presence, tales of days gone bold.
At Lam Lukka, the Country Club's embrace,
We'll meet, and golf in Londoner's grace.
The hour's set, the tee-time nears at half past 'leven,
The format? Well, let's choose from options given.
Stableford or perhaps a Scramble game,
Let thoughts be heard, suggestions aim.
To register, True Handicap's the route,
For spots, swift action, don't be mute.
Pre-registrations, twenty-seven in store,
Act fast to secure, just thirteen more.
If numbers swell, a Wait List may ensue,
But fret not, we'll strive for space anew.
Recollections sought, anecdotes to tell,
To weave the tapestry of Londoners well.

Stories cherished, memories divine.
This event, a labor of love, I've planned,
Hoping joy and appreciation grand.

2024 is our 25th anniversary year and our Saturday 11 May event will have many of our ex-captains, significant ex-committee members and long time members in attendance. This event is an amazing opportunity to get together with the people who helped shape our fabulous society, pay tribute to them and enjoy a round of golf in true Londoner fashion.
The event is at Lam Lukka Country Club* (Resort Course - was called CD) on Saturday 11 May with the first tee time at 11:31. Format - individual Stableford
As this is a special event, pre-registrations (27) have been taken so sign up quickly to guarantee a spot. If we go past 40 sign ups there will be a Wait List and we will see if we can get more spaces. [Update] - we have 47 players as at 22 April!

We are also gathering recollections and anecdotes to bolster the History of the Londoners on the About page of our website. Happy to hear from anyone with good stories.
Lots of effort has already gone into this event and I really hope it is appreciated and enjoyed by all.

*Why Lam Lukka? Availability! - we moved this event from Subhapruek to accommodate older players who need carts to be able to go onto fairways. If this event goes brilliantly, maybe there will be enough interest to do another one later in the year, possibly at Bangpakong Riverside where we may be able to recreate a presentation from the past on the Jamieson's Terrace!
