Captains-Corner and other news

Dear Members, 29 April 2012

Very many thanks to everyone who participated in our Charity Day on Saturday 28^th April.

As well as a lorry full of goods and clothes, you contributed 41200 baht for the Sisters of the Good Shepherd.

Special thanks go to Andy Flynn of Worldwide Relocations for providing the lorry on the day; to  khun Jimlim of JW Marriott Khao Lak for donating the hotel voucher which raised 10500 baht in the auction so ably run by Steve Booth; to Paul Wyatt who won the auction; to David Jeffers of Five Star Thailand and Peter Secombe of Locksolar for their generosity in giving 10000 baht each; and to all the players who brought goods and clothes along and contributed their match fees (9000 baht) and the made a further contribution of 1700 baht in the post game collection

A fantastic effort for which I am sure the Sisters will be truly grateful

Commitee

The commitee is John Griffiths, Captain, Martyn Smith, Vice Captain and Secretary, Paul Wyatt, Handicap Secretary, Howard Bryant, Treasurer, Dougie Riach, Matchplay convener and Nikki Cox and Michael Shannon who will also be an integral part of the organisation on the day and behind the scenes.

Sponsorship

We are very fortunate to have so many genorous sponsors  - their participation in sponsoring holes, providing wine for technical prizes or in the case of the Londoners 1000 baht vouchers means that more of your match fees go towards keeping our cost low at Soi Dao, the Club Championships and of course our annual Christmas Dinner

The Londoners remains our largest sponsor and we hope that all members will support the pub when they can - their Sunday Buffet lunch must be the best value for money in Bangkok

Arjan Buffing has come forward and kindly offered for his company Visit Thailand . com to sponsor a Masters completion to be played over 2 days. We have confirmed this will take place during both of our games in May. To be eligible you must be a past winner of the masters, have been a flight or overall winner in one of our previous events from the preceding year and have played a minimum of 6 games with us.
